1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of the SCAMELEON Discord bot and its associated website and dashboard. By adding or using the bot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

SCAMELEON provides automated security and moderation functions for Discord communities. Features include a shared scam-reporting system, checks on joining members, optional message-based scam detection, word and name filters, and moderation logging. Features depend on Discord permissions and the server administrator’s settings. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

3. Eligibility and Compliance

Use of SCAMELEON must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and applicable law. Server owners and administrators remain responsible for deciding which moderation features to enable and for using them lawfully.

4. User Responsibilities

You must not misuse SCAMELEON, submit knowingly false scam reports, manipulate ban reasons to target others, exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with the bot or its infrastructure, or use the service for harassment, fraud or other unlawful purposes.

5. Scam Reports and Shared Protection

SCAMELEON may evaluate scam-related ban reasons and report values across participating Discord servers. These signals can contribute to a shared scam list and automatic actions when a listed account joins another participating server. Automated systems can produce incorrect results. Users who believe they were listed incorrectly may request a review using the contact details in our Impressum. The operator may review or correct reports to prevent misuse.

6. Automated Moderation and Content

Depending on the server configuration, SCAMELEON may scan messages, delete suspected scam content, post flagged content to a designated Discord moderation log channel, and warn or remove accounts. Message-based detection can produce false positives. Server administrators remain responsible for their moderation settings, permissions and review of incidents. No guarantee of complete scam detection is given.

7. Availability, Changes and Discontinuation

SCAMELEON may be updated, modified, restricted, temporarily unavailable or discontinued. No guarantee is made regarding uninterrupted availability, error-free detection or compatibility with future Discord changes.

8. Suspension and Termination

Access may be restricted or blocked where necessary to address abuse, false reporting, technical threats or violations of these Terms. Server administrators may remove the bot from their server at any time.

9. Third-Party Services

SCAMELEON depends on Discord and technical hosting infrastructure. Third-party outages, API changes or service restrictions may affect the bot. Discord’s separate terms and policies continue to apply.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not guarantee that SCAMELEON will detect every scam, prevent every harmful message or avoid false positives. The operator is not responsible for moderation decisions made by server administrators or other third parties. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory liability for intent, gross negligence or injury to life, body or health.

11. Privacy

Information on personal data processing, message scanning and the shared scam list is provided in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated with effect for the future. Material changes will be communicated where legally required.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by German law to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory consumer-protection and conflict-of-law rules.

14. Severability

If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
